I love the Japanese people’s awe for nature and the spiritual connection to the beauty of Trees as beings. And that you can be both a scientist and a guardian of the (so far) unexplainable magic of the forest. Like the father in the film My neighbor Totoro by Hayao Miyazaki for y Studio Ghibli.

Traveling through the air watching the trees is absolutely wonderful. More trees and swings to everyone!

(And a strong person to give you this much speed is highly recommended.)

No matter how I draw, the trees in my Japanese Garden will never be as fantastic, surrealistic and strange as the Trees of Shikoku.
